What We Do

Community Impact

NatureRidge Natural Play Area

SVKC donated $8,000 toward completion of the play area. SVKC membership provided the manpower to clear and clean area in preparation for park design features. Learn more about the park.

Community Child Care Van

Shenandoah Valley Kiwanis Club and Community Child Care celebrate the Kiwanis Club Gift of $9300 toward the purchase of a newer van for the Center on February 22, 2018. This donation along with other fundraising efforts by Community Child Care made the purchase of a newer, safer van possible.

Juneteenth Celebration

Partnered with Juneteenth Committee to provide bouncy house along with volunteers for the June 2019 celebration. We recorded over 190 bouncers! We also gave out books and a few stuffed toys.

Ongoing service and support activities

Each year Shenandoah Valley Kiwanis Club provides hundreds of hours of community service and gives more than $15,000 in grants and donations to organizations who focus on children’s needs in our community. Grants to the community have been a part of SVKC since inception. We work in partnership with the Community Foundation to design and manage the SVKC grant program through their online system. This provides a fair process for awarding grant money to organizations in the community. Additional grants and donations may also be given for special projects such as the Natural Play Area and Community Childcare van.
